Orthodox Magazine of the Benelux
On the feast of the Entrance of the Most Holy Theotokos, a new Orthodox portal Orthodox Benelux has started operating, which will focus on the life and mission of Orthodox Christians in the Benelux countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg).
The portal was opened with the blessing of His Eminence the Bishop of Western Europe, Lord Justin of the Serbian Orthodox Church, but it will follow events from all local Orthodox Churches.
This is an informative magazine dedicated to spreading knowledge about Orthodoxy and all Orthodox communities in the Benelux region.
Our goal is to provide reliable and modern information about life in the church, faith, spiritual values, and the everyday obligations of every believer.
As an international site, we strive to bring Orthodoxy closer to people of all ages and backgrounds, through articles, workshops, interviews, and opportunities for participation in various projects and initiatives.
In addition to spiritual themes, we also deal with issues of education, business opportunities within the Orthodox community, as well as contemporary challenges faced by believers in today's world.
His Eminence Bishop of Western Europe, G.G. Justin
Bishop Justin (Jeremic) was born on June 22, 1982, in Ruma to father Milos and mother Olga. He completed primary school in his hometown and then, with the blessing of Bishop of Srem, Mr. Vasilije, enrolled in the School of Theology of Saint Arsenius of Srem in Sremski Karlovci.
His diligence towards theology and love for liturgy, as well as for monastic life and asceticism, determined the further life path of the young theologian. Thus, Bishop Vasilije decided to ordain him at the end of the fifth grade, in March 2002, as a monk of the small schema in the Fruška Gora monastery of Velika Remeta. Shortly thereafter, on the feast of the Annunciation, Monk Justin was ordained to the rank of hierodeacon in the monastery of Krušedol. After finishing the School of Theology, where he graduated as the best student in his generation, he enrolled in the Moscow Spiritual Academy at the recommendation of the relevant archbishop. Before his departure to Moscow, in October 2002, he was ordained to the rank of hieromonk in the monastery of Velika Remeta.
At the regular spring session of the Holy Archdiocesan Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church held in Belgrade from April 24 to May 29, 2021, he was elected as the vicar Bishop of Hvosno. At the regular session of the Holy Archdiocesan Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church held in Sremski Karlovci and Belgrade from May 15 to 21, 2022, he was elected as the Bishop of Western Europe.
